Our Goals & Accomplishments
SUMMER 2020
Last year we developed 160 Summer Adventure Reading Packs.
80 packs were delivered to the homes of each child who had registered for in-person STREAM camp.
80 packs were given to local schools to pass out to students who relied on the school for meals.
Packs included high-interest fiction and nonfiction books around a specific theme. Literacy and outdoor activities based on the theme were included. Students also received supplies for completing the activities.
SUMMER 2021
We will develop 300 Summer Adventure Reading Packs.
All packs will be delivered to local schools before the school year ends.
Principals and teachers will decide which students will receive this extended literacy support.
Packs will be created by Marietta College Education students. They will continue to include high-interest fiction and nonfiction books, activities, and supplies.
